Philip Heem is a Senior Lead Officer for the Los Angeles Port Police. He is currently assigned to the Port Police’s Dive Team as a public safety diver. As a dive team member, Heem is also responsible for the operation of the team’s sonar equipment, remotely operated vehicles (ROV), and their new state-of-the-art 65 foot dive boat.
Officer Heem holds a Master of 100 tons captain’s license and is an instructor at the Port’s Maritime Law Enforcement Training Center (MLETC). Heem served in the United States Coast Guard for 9 years and has 15 years of maritime law enforcement experience.
