Michael Mc Mullen has more than 35 years of experience in the Security and Asset Protection Profession. His career started in 1978 with the McDonnell Douglas Aerospace Company where he held a number of significant positions such as Security off-site auditor, Emergency Manager, Security Technology Advisor and Deputy Chief of Security and Crisis Management for the Boeing Corporation – Long Beach. He has extensive experience in International and Special Event planning that has ranged from international Air Shows to security for foreign aircraft sales campaigns.
Michael moved to the Port of Long Beach Security Division in 2006. He was the architect of the Port of Long Beach’s $65 million dollar state of the art Command & Control Center Security System that includes fifteen (15) surveillance and information based applications. His understanding of security technologies and how to leverage the numerous industries and integrators makes his expertise unique in the automation / integration field. His leadership led to the Port receiving the Best Integration security solution – Maritime by Government Security News in 2011.
Mr. McMullen private and public sectors experience has given him a unique insight to the challenges of molding security standards with business processes to provide solutions that meet both the Port’s security as well as business needs. He believes in value based solutions and knows that those types of success are only accomplished with teamwork and honest communications.
