Candice Wright has been Long Beach Police Officer for over twenty years and is currently a detective assigned to the Office of Counter Terrorism, special detailed to the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force. Her current duties include potential terrorism investigations as it relates to critical infrastructure, intelligence collection and dissemination within the LA/LB Port Complex and the development and implementation of SAN (Situational Awareness Network) to be utilized among public/private stakeholders in critical infrastructure environments.
Prior to being assigned to a Counter Terrorism Unit, Detective Wright worked in the Drug Investigation Section where her primary responsibility was to conduct in depth narcotics investigations, prepare and serve search warrants, develop and manage informants, act in an undercover capacity in both long and short term drug investigations, run surveillance operations and coordinate multiple teams, as well as file cases and testify as a recognized court expert.
Other past assignments included being a Recruit Training Officer at the Long Beach Police Academy, certified range master and a Field Training Officer for new police officers working in the field.
Detective Wright has an M.A. in Security Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School at Monterey and a B.A. from Chapman University in Orange, CA.
